Unlike LA and NY, where a production company can go to one agency or an extras management company to find talent, the Chicago market differs. As a casting company, we are usually the only entity with a large enough selection of extras for union and non-union projects. This is particularly true for SAG-AFTRA projects since SAG-AFTRA does not cover film/television in Chicago, and commercials/industrials can be union or non-union.
Before submission to the production company, we thoroughly vet each potential extra to make sure he/she/they are available and suitable for your project. Our ability to create customized lookbooks with current photos and detailed information, such as specific skills and experience, also sets us apart. Whether you require extras with specialized abilities like skateboarding proficiency or a particular aesthetic, we meticulously curate options to enhance the authenticity of your scenes.
If there are other requirements, such as providing a vehicle, a bike, a skateboard, kissing, etc., a bump will be required. Special abilities, e.g., being a stenographer, medical training, or real police officer, will increase the rate of talent. We can send you a separate rate sheet for bumps for non-union projects. SAG-AFTRA establishes bumps for union projects.
If you move forward with hiring our company for the project, we will tailor a quote for the talent and casting service. We will send an agreement that we ask production to complete and sign. We send a separate invoice for our casting services. We DO NOT provide payroll services.
