First Up: How to be the Best Background Actor
Erin Stewart Tiedje and Jessica Needham (https://www.4starcasting.com/team.html) run the Chicago-based extras casting company, 4 Star Casting, which has evolved into a powerhouse in the industry. From securing small projects in the early days, recent projects include “The Bear,” “Power Book IV: Force,” “The Chi,” “Emperor of Ocean Park,” and “Dark Matter” to name just a few.

· How to better build your POP Profile to land the gig
· What to expect from receiving an availability check all the way to arriving on set
· What important items to read and review in call info and how to prepare for set

Second Up: What it takes to be a Professional Actor
Are you ready to step out of the background? “Vagabond School of the Arts has been Chicago’s premier training program for actors pursuing TV, film and commercial work for over a decade.” Vagabond’s Owner/Founder, Michael McCracken (Michael McCracken Bio) will be present to provide detailed next steps for aspiring actors who are eager to transition from being extras to landing speaking roles in television and film. This Q&A covers everything you need to know, such as:
· How to get a talent agent
· Getting headshots that help you book
· Formatting your resume (even when you don’t have much to share)
· Build your acting credits by booking your own work on professional casting sites

**Those selected will receive material a couple days before the event so that they can prepare. To be considered, YOU MUST BE ATTENDING THE IN-PERSON Part of the Workshop. The selections will be based on the elements that are in your POP profile.

Vagabond School is offering a discounted on-camera audition workshop exclusively to 4 Star Background Actors who have participated in the Background to Actor Workshop. Participants will learn more about Vagabond School's on-camera technique that can be used when auditioning for television and film work. Everyone will get a chance to get in front of the camera and perform TV sides from a One Chicago show with direct feedback from former talent agent and freelance casting professional, Michael McCracken. *LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE*
